Preparation:
Practice moving your horse’s front and rear independently of the other.
All we are looking for right now is one or two steps at a time. Do not rush this!
Be careful around the tail. If your horse is uncomfortable with you being there, go back to desensitizing him/her in that area before proceeding. Be sure to wear gloves while rope handling.
Release pressure as soon as the horse does what is right.
Keep body in proper position.
